Juggling the soccer ball is more than just a skill; it's a journey that requires dedication, patience, and perseverance. While it may seem daunting at first, mastering this skill can be incredibly rewarding and fun. As a Fremont Rush Soccer player, learning to juggle the ball is not only a great way to improve your ball control but also a way to develop essential skills that can benefit you both on and off the field. Why Juggling is Important: Juggling helps improve your touch, coordination, and balance, which are essential for success in soccer. It also enhances your ability to read the game, as you become more aware of the ball's movement and position. Additionally, juggling can boost your confidence and mental focus, as you strive to beat your previous record or achieve a new milestone. Improves Touch: Juggling requires precise control over the ball, which helps improve your touch. This translates to better control during matches, whether dribbling, passing, or shooting. Enhances Coordination and Balance: Juggling involves using different parts of your body to control the ball, improving your overall coordination and balance. This is crucial for executing skills and maneuvers during games. Enhances Mental Focus: Juggling requires concentration and focus to keep the ball in the air. This mental discipline can help improve your focus during games, enabling you to stay alert and react quickly to changing situations. Sets a Foundation for Learning Other Skills: Juggling lays the groundwork for learning more advanced skills in soccer. It teaches you how to manipulate the ball with different parts of your body, which is essential for mastering techniques like dribbling, trapping, and heading. How to Get Started: Begin by practicing juggling with both feet, starting with a few consecutive touches and gradually increasing the number as you improve. Focus on keeping the ball under control and using different parts of your feet to touch the ball. Remember, it's okay to make mistakes; the key is to stay patient and keep practicing. Tips for Success: Start with a properly inflated ball that is appropriate for your age and skill level. Practice regularly, even if it's just for a few minutes each day. Consistency is key to mastering this skill. Set realistic goals and track your progress to stay motivated. REMEMBER - Learning to juggle the soccer ball is not easy, and it requires a lot of patience and commitment. As you embark on this journey, remember that every player progresses at their own pace. Stay focused on your goals and celebrate your achievements, no matter how small they may seem. Juggling the soccer ball is a challenging yet rewarding skill that every Fremont Rush Soccer player should strive to master. It not only improves your ball control and coordination but also teaches you valuable lessons in patience, perseverance, and commitment. The Power of Self-Driven Growth!
By Zee Kerawala December 18, 2024
Unity is a Rush Soccer Core Value that runs deep in everything we do - on and off the field. This image of the 2015G Blue team showcases an example of the Rush Way, a pre- and post-game tradition that reflects the bond, respect, and teamwork these players share. The Rush Way team photo is no ordinary picture, as it symbolizes the spirit of unity: Two Rows of Connection : The back row stands tall with arms wrapped around each other’s shoulders, while the outside players lean forward to connect with the front row. Front Row Support : Slightly squatting with hands on each other’s knees or shoulders, every player maintains physical contact—no gaps, no breaks, just a solid, unified team. The relaxed, natural pose reminds us that while soccer is a competitive sport, it’s also about trust, camaraderie, and enjoying the journey together. Everyone is connected. Everyone matters. When players trust and support one another, they become stronger as a team. They know that every pass, every run, and every moment counts toward the shared goal. This Rush Way photo is more than a tradition; it’s a statement of who we are. Everyone touching someone signifies a unified group—no gaps, no weak links—just one connected team. Go Rush! Together, all things are possible. Happy Holidays!

Our December Core Value Highlight is Unity - the belief that “Together, all things are possible.” This month, Coach Song has exemplified this value with the 2013G Blue and 2013G Nero teams, showing how off-field camaraderie leads to on-field success. Coach Song leveraged HUDL Focus Flex technology not only for game analysis but also as a tool for fostering team cohesion. Rather than holding traditional virtual meetings through Zoom or Google Meet, Coach Song organized in-person gatherings at players’ homes. These sessions allowed teammates to come together to review footage, strategize, and connect on a personal level. When asked about his unique approach, Coach Song shared, “Soccer isn’t just about physical skills; it’s a cognitive sport as well. By building strong relationships off the pitch, the girls develop trust and communication, which directly translates to better performance on the field. It’s important for their minds to grow as much as their soccer skills.” These gatherings were more than tactical meetings, they were moments for players to celebrate each other’s successes, reflect on their shared journey, and strengthen the unity that drives team growth. The Rush Soccer Core Value of Unity reminds us, “When your teammates are down, bear each other’s burdens; conversely, celebrate your teammate’s successes.” Coach Song’s approach captures this sentiment perfectly. By creating a culture of support and mutual respect, he helps players develop not only as athletes but as individuals who understand the importance of teamwork and trust. Coach Song’s dedication to fostering unity demonstrates that soccer is about more than technical drills, it’s about creating connections that empower players to reach their full potential. Through HUDL sessions and intentional team-building, the 2013G Blue and Nero teams are thriving, both on and off the field. Thank you, Coach Song, for leading by example and inspiring our players to live the Core Value of Unity! Go 2013G Blue, Go 2013G Nero, and Go Rush!

At Fremont Rush, we are dedicated to instilling strong core values in every player from the earliest stages of their journey. The 2018 Boys and Girls Pre-Competitive (Pre-Comp) team perfectly embodies three foundational Rush values: Unity, Passion, and Enjoyment. These young athletes show us that even the smallest players can make a big impact, both on and off the field. Our Pre-Comp team demonstrates that together, all things are possible. This unity shines in every playdate they attend and every skill they build. Whether it’s celebrating a successful pass, cheering for a teammate, or working together in practice, these players remind us of the power of teamwork. Enjoyment is a cornerstone of Fremont Rush. For our Pre-Comp players, it’s about finding joy in every moment on the field. We encourage them to "enjoy your work, as this is a gift," recognizing that their dedication and hard work lead to growth and satisfaction. The smiles on their faces as they improve each session reflect this joy. Passion is what drives our players to give their best every day. Passion always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. The 2018 B/G team’s enthusiasm for soccer is contagious, inspiring everyone around them. They remind us that passion never fails and fuels their drive to succeed and improve. The Pre-Comp program’s objective is to prepare players for competitive soccer by building foundational skills and fostering a love for the game. Throughout the season, these young players participate in playdates, where they can test their skills, learn game fundamentals, and grow as a team. With each step forward, the joy they find in the game is evident. Coach G: “In our Pre-Comp team, we focus on fostering a love for the game and strong values that extend beyond the field. It’s inspiring to see these young players embody Unity, Passion, and Enjoyment so naturally.” Coach T: “Each practice and playdate brings new opportunities for growth. Our Pre-Comp players are learning not only soccer skills but also the importance of supporting one another. That sense of unity is something special.” As we celebrate the core values of Unity, Passion, and Enjoyment, we look forward to seeing these qualities guide the 2018 B/G Pre-Comp team through the season. With each playdate, practice, and shared success, they’re building a strong foundation for their future in soccer—and having a lot of fun along the way. Go Rush!
